We then tested the boats in the river in the Earth and Sky Gallery, and also in the Creative Kids' Museum. It was exciting to see their creations in action. This program was a great kick-off to our new Science unit on Boats and Buoyancy.
Last week we created some new Spring art projects that are really brightening up the hallway. Students used mixed media and paper layering to create some spring birds.
In Math, we continue to study measurement through the introduction of activities to explore Mass. Today, we used pan balances to compare things that are heavier and lighter, and to try to create an equal balance using non-standard items.
We have been digging deeper into our study of Fairy Tales by comparing various versions of The Three Little Pigs and creating a storyboard. Next, we will explore versions of Little Red Riding Hood from around the world.
We have been connecting with students in schools across Canada in the form of the many postcards we have been receiving! We respond by creating our own postcards and sharing information about our community and Calgary.
Finally, The Grade 2 assembly will be on April 26th at 10:30am. We will be singing and performing different songs and plays about Canada. We hope you will be able to join us.
